![]() Triple X Alapaha’s is more than a Kennel name, it is a title that represents the Spitzig’s love for Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs, which they have 4 of in their family. Rex, Galaxy and Lexi live under the same roof as us in Hanover Ontario, while the 4th member of the canine family – Axl, lives with their close friends near Kincardine Ontario. I discovered my love for the breed in 2006 after bringing my first male, Rex, into the family. Rex is a white Alapaha with brown brindle eye patches. He is 19 inches tall, and is a solid 70lbs. He was easily trained and became a highly known and respected dog of the town. When he was 2, I surprised Cheryl with a fawn, reversed brindle little beauty, who is Galaxy! Galaxy learned quickly from Rex and became part of the family without a problem. Galaxy filled out to be a top quality female, so we couldn’t help but be curious as to what her pups would look like. Once discussed and agreed upon, we decided we would breed Galaxy, which would take place for her first time in January of 2010, in her 3rd heat. After looking long and hard for a stud nearby - with compatible breed standards for Galaxy, who is 19 inches tall and just over 65lbs, they were let to New Jersey where they found Axl. He was an 18 month old red/white merle, Alapaha Blue Blood Stud who’s family were unable to fit him into their busy daily schedules. To New Jersey we went to pick up Axl. To date Galaxy has nursed 2 litters of healthy, bullie pups who were sired by Axl. This is where Lexi comes into play. She is the outcome of a Galaxy X Axl’s 2nd breeding. Lexi is a red/white brindle, and is presently 8 months old and weighs 50lbs. We are currently keeping our eyes open for an approved stud to breed with her in the future.
